Motorists from all over the country are expected to travel through eastern Carolina this weekend for the Labor Day holiday. And the State Highway Patrol is trying to make sure all those travelers stay safe.
Troopers will be out in force conducting their annual operation Slow Down. They'll be cracking down on speeders and impaired drivers.
Over 20 people were killed in North Carolina last Labor Day weekend in traffic accidents. Troopers say the most common violation on holiday weekend's is aggressive driving.
Operation Slow Down runs until midnight on Tuesday.
