Blood Supplies At Critical Level

View Map

Accidents typically increase over holiday weekends, and there is usually a higher than usual demand on the local blood supply.

That's a problem, because the Pitt County Chapter of the American Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donations.

WITN hoped to help that situation this morning, as we and the Red Cross held a blood drive at our Greenville studio.

The shortage is so critical the Red Cross is going to keep its donor center open throughout the holiday weekend.

The Greenville donor center is located at 700 Cromwell Drive. It will be open from 9 am to 3 pm Saturday and again on Monday.
