Camp Lejeune is offering free lead screenings for military children next week. The base says it's doing this because of the recent discovery of lead in the paint of toys being made in China.
The screenings will be available Tuesday, September 4th through Thursday, September 6th at the Naval Hospital in the Pediatric Clinic.
The screenings are scheduled to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. and are for children 6 months to 9 years old.
For further information on keeping your family safe from lead please visit the Environmental Protection Agency website at ww.epa.gov/lead or call the National Lead Information Center at 1-800-424-LEAD (5323).
