Storm Debris Clogging Drains

All those limbs and leaves left behind when Hurricanes Alex, Bonnie, and Charley blew through are causing big problems for cities and towns down east.

That's because neighbors cleaning up that mess are pushing all that debris into the street. When it rains, leaves, sticks, and branches are clogging gutters and storm drains faster than crews in Jacksonville can clean them out. If too much debris washes away, it can back up water, causing mosquito problems, erosion, and even flooding.
