Hotel Manager Found Murdered In Jacksonville

An arrest has been made in Sunday's murder of a Jacksonville hotel manager.

Police have charged 17 year old Casey Tyler of Midway Park with 1st degree murder and stealing a motor vehicle.

Sheriff deputies found Timothy Spicer's burned out vehicle on Aragona Boulevard yesterday. Jacksonville police went to Spicer's residence and found his body. It appears he was shot in the neck.

Police say the victim was the manager of the Innkeeper Hotel. Police tell us it appears the 42 year old Spicer reserved rooms for two friends the night before, one of them being Tyler.

Detectives are not saying what the motive in the murder is, but do say Tyler has admitted to killing Spicer.

Police have charged two other men in connetction with the murder.

They say 22 year old Charles Cunnningham helped burn the victim's car. He's charged with accessory after the fact to murder. Anthony Wiggins, Jr of Jacksonville was arrested for possession of a weapon of mass destruction. Police say he owned the murder weapon, a gun type that's illegal in North Carolina.
