Fire Forces Passengers Off Amtrak Train

A fire in the engine room forced the evacuation of an Amtrak passenger train in Johnston County Saturday afternoon.

No injuries have been reported.

Amtrak officials say the engine room caught fire around 4:15 p.m. Between 175 to 250 passengers got off the train in the town of Micro and were taken to North Johnston High School, where the
principal says preparations were being made to accommodate the
passengers.
