On a divided highway of 4 or more lanes with a median, only cars behind school bus need to stop when it stops.
On a two lane road, vehicles in both directions must stop for a bus.
On a four lane road without a median, again, vehicles in both directions must stop.
On a roadway with four or more lanes where there is a center turning lane, only the cars behind the bus need to stop.
