School Bus Safety Rules

There will be more drivers dropping off kids and all those big school buses to share the road with come Monday. But when is it OK to pass a school bus and when do you have to stop?

School bus safety class is now in session.

On a divided highway of 4 or more lanes with a median, only cars behind school bus need to stop when it stops.

On a two lane road, vehicles in both directions must stop for a bus.

On a four lane road without a median, again, vehicles in both directions must stop.

On a roadway with four or more lanes where there is a center turning lane, only the cars behind the bus need to stop.
