Street Crews Get Busy Cleaning Up Storm Debris

Cleaning up Hurricane Charley's mess will cost Jacksonville neighbors some time, but maybe not too much money.

City street and sanitation crews were out in Northwoods early Tuesday scooping up limbs and trees downed by hurricane-force winds Saturday. But, because this has so-far not been declared a federal disaster in North Carolina, it’s likely that the cities and counties here will have to pick up the cleanup bill.

For Jacksonville residents that will mean a little longer time to pick all this mess up.
