Wildfire Closes U.S. Highway 74

Officials have closed portions of U.S. Highway 74 in Robeson County because of wildfires that have burned for the past month.

Nearly 130 fires were burning yesterday and forestry officials say dry weather is making the situation worse.

Fires have burned more than 25-hundred acres in the county on the South Carolina border.

One fire official has been working in the county since August 15th and says some fires rekindle after they are extinguished.
