Onslow Co. Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In

An Onslow County man turned himself in after a weekend stabbing involving his estranged wife and another man.

Charles Poole is charged with attempted murder and first degree burglary.

Deputies say the 30 year old Poole forced his way into a home on Gum Branch Road Saturday night. Authorities say the suspect stabbed George Taylor several times. Taylor is still recovering from his injuries at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

Poole, according to lawmen, fled to his parents’ home in Delaware where he contacted Onslow County authorities. Poole turned himself in this morning. Deputies say Poole admitted to stabbing Taylor, but says the man attacked him after jumping out of a closet.
