What a difference a day makes for Mother Nature and Eastern Carolina.

Heavy rain, 70 mile per hour wind gusts and crashing waves pounded the Whichards Beach waterfront in Beaufort County Saturday.

However, it was a much different story on Sunday. The waters of the Pamlico River calmed down, and while there was some light rain falling Sunday afternoon, you could hardly tell a storm had hit the day before. There were no reports of any major storm damage in the Whichards Beach area and residents we talked to said they feel lucky the storm didn't hit as strong as originally predicted.
