Onslow County Left With A Mess

Onslow County got hit with several squall like bands as Tropical Storm Charley rolled through the area. Strong winds gusting up to near hurricane strength cause roofs to peel off some homes and businesses. Trees were downed by the winds. They were an easy target for Charley because the ground was already saturated, toppling some trees with ease. Traffic lights were out on Western Boulevard for a while. A planned curfew for Saturday night was canceled because the storm moved out quickly and damage was not severe. However, there is a lot of debris that was thrown around by the storm the city will have to clean up.
