All of Eastern Carolina is under a tornado watch until 8 p.m. as the remnants of Tropical Storm Bonnie move up the East Coast.
The remnants of Bonnie will be tracking through central North Carolina tonight and early tomorrow morning. Rainfall amounts are expected to be around 2-4 inches.
A Flood Watch has been issued for the following counties through midday Friday: Currituck, Camden, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan, Hertford, Bertie, North Hampton, Halifax, Edgecombe, Nash, Wilson, Wayne, & counties west of I-95.
Forecasters are also keeping a close watch on Hurricane Charley as it may move through Florida then up the East Coast this weekend. The remnants of Charley are expected to follow Bonnie on Friday night into Saturday morning resulting in possibly another 2-4 inches of rain.
A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible within the watch area. People within the watch area are advised to check preparedness requirements...keep informed...and be ready for quick action if flooding threatens of if a warning is issued.
