Workers Race to Beat the Rain

Some folks raced the rain Thursday, to get outdoor work finished before Bonnie and Charley move through.

Workers at the new Highway 17 bypass project in Jacksonville worked hard to get some special mats in place, to keep rain from eroding away the dirt on this overpass at Highway 24.

Crews had a rough job, working to beat the weather and to keep hundreds of thousands of truckloads of fill dirt where they originally put it!
