Marines Return Home

Emotions ran high Thursday at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, as family members and friends waited anxiously for the return of their loved ones from Iraq.

A Marine played taps on a bagpipe as 170 members of the 3rd Battalion 6th Regiment unloaded from buses. They were greeted by their family members ready for long embraces after a seven month deployment.

The troops conducted several counter insurgency operations and even helped establish a police academy in the war torn country.
