Edwards: Wife's Criticism Of Obama, Clinton Consistent With His Own

Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards not only supports his wife's criticism of rivals Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton -- he was thinking the same thing.

He says Elizabeth Edwards was just echoing his own position when she called Obama holier than thou in an interview published in The Progressive magazine. Edwards accused Obama and Clinton in a June debate of being passive and cautious on urgent issues, such as Iraq, health care and gay rights.

Edwards made the remarks in an interview yesterday shortly after officials of his campaign said they're shifting workers from Nevada to other early voting states, including South Carolina.

Edwards insists he's going to "compete very hard in Nevada," though he notes that other "adjustments" will be made, "depending on what the needs are at the moment."
