If you're affected by air pollution, today is a good day to stay inside.
Air quality officials have issued a health notice for air pollution in the Charlotte, Fayetteville, Triad and Triangle metropolitan areas.
Forecasters predict Code Orange conditions, meaning air quality in the four areas is likely to be unhealthy. That means people sensitive to air pollution should avoid moderate exertion outdoors in the afternoon. Sensitive groups include children who are active outside, people who work or exercise outdoors, and those with asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and other respiratory ailments.
Outdoor burning is prohibited in metro areas covered by the Code Orange forecast.
