Kinston Woman Shot While in Shower

Kinston police investigators are looking for a suspect they say shot a woman in her own home.

The shooting happened at 311B in the Richard Green apartments. Police say 22-year-old Jennifer Washington was shot in the chest while she was taking a shower around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Washington was transported to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where she is listed in serious condition.

Police say they have a suspect in mind and believe this shooting is domestically related.
