A man was stabbed late Monday night in Jacksonville and police say a cell phone and a store surveillance tape helped them catch the attacker.
Police say the stabbing happened at the Kangaroo Express on Highway 24 & Piney Green Road just before midnight.
Robert Roberson told police he had been stabbed after a dispute with another man in the parking lot.
Police recovered a cell phone left behind at the scene. A search warrant led them to the phone’s owner. A review of the in-store camera system allowed police to compare a picture of the phone’s owner and the man on the video.
Police have charged 21 year old Ross Marsh of Jacksonville with attempted murder.
The victim was released after being treated at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
