Six Bragg-Based Soldiers Die In Afghanistan, Iraq Since Friday

Fort Bragg is mourning multiple losses in the Middle East over the past several days.

Three were members of the 82nd Airborne Division. Two were members of the 7th Special Forces Group and one was assigned to a unit of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne).

Sergeant Joan Duran died Friday in a non-combat incident in Iraq. Military officials say that incident is under investigation.

Private Jordan Goode of Kalamazoo, Michigan, was driving the first vehicle in a five-truck convoy when he was killed by a bomb that exploded under his truck Saturday in Afghanistan.

Private Alan J. Austin of Houston; Sergeant Charles B. Kitowski III of the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch; Sergeant Jeffrey D. Kettle of Madill, Oklahoma; and Staff Sergeant Jesse G. Clowers Jr., 27, of Herndon, Virginia, died Sunday in Afghanistan.
