As more motorists take to the roads for the approaching Labor Day holiday weekend, law enforcement officials will start manning roadside checkpoints.
The dates for the Labor Day "Booze It and Lose It" campaign are Friday, August 17 to Monday, September third. Last Labor Day weekend 96 people died in automobile accidents in North Carolina, and 23 of those deaths were alcohol related.
In addition to checking for alcohol, police will also check license and insurance information and inspection stickers.
