NEW INFO: Moped Rider Killed In Overnight Wreck

Police said the man on a moped, who collided with an sport utility vehicle on Sunday night, has since died from his injuries.

Wilson Police said 45-year-old Victor Tolliver was riding his moped eastbound on Hines Street in Wilson around 9PM on Sunday night. Investigators said 37-year-old Tonya Lavender of Elm City was driving her SUV northbound on Mercer Street. Police said the two collided. Tolliver was taken to Vidant Medical Center, and later die from his injuries. Police said their investigation continues, but no word yet on any charges in this case.

Wilson County 911 dispatched EMS to the scene of an accident involving a moped versus vehicle.

There are few details at this time, but the 911 communications operator says that EastCare, Wilson EMS & Fire are on scene. The operator could not provide a time or location for the accident.

The condition of those involved in the accident is unknown at this time.
