An Onslow County judge Monday ruled that the trial of a former Camp Lejeune Marine, who is accused of killing a pregnant Marine, will be delayed.
Cesar Laurean will now stand trial on August 9th for the murder of Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach in December of 2007.
At a court hearing, Laurean's attorney said a knee injury prevented him from pulling the case together and asked for a 90 day extension. District Attorney Dewey Hudson wanted the case to move forward on June 28th.
Instead, Judge Charles Henry granted a delay of 6 weeks. The trial will still be moved to Wayne County because of extensive pre-trial publicity.
