Decision On Downtown Road Closure and Land Transfer Begins Monday

Greenville City Council will decide whether or not to close a portion of downtown to make way for additional parking and redevelopment.

It's a heated debate which has business owners concerned it will cut them off.

The city heard from the public last month and tabled a decision until Monday. If the land transfer is completed that would mean Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church could build an enclosed campus without traffic interruption and the city will own the Sheppard Memorial Library Parking Area.
