Authorities say the shooting happened along the 300 block of Laurel Street in Greenville Friday evening. Police say the suspect tried to break into the home, when he was confronted and then shot by a resident. Today we stopped by the community and spoke to Joyce Barnes, a neighbor who says she heard the gunshot from her backyard. She's saddened by the event, but remains resilient. Police are still investigating the shooting. The injured resident, Johnny Ray Braxton was treated at Pitt Memorial Hospital and then released.
