Where Are the Voters?

PITT COUNTY-- Board of Election officials say polling sites outside of the Greenville city limit are seeing more voters than those inside the city.

For example, a polling site in Pactolus saw more than 100 registered voters by 2:00 Tuesday afternoon.

The turnout is surprising, but election officials say the race for county commissioners and board of education is pulling more people to the polls.

In Greenville at one polling site, they had only 40 voters to cast a ballot by 2 p.m.
