Incumbent North Carolina Governor Mike Easley is expected to easily win Tuesday's Democratic primary.
The Republican side may not be so cut and dry.
Six candidates are vying for the chance to take on Governor Easley in November's general election.
They are Richard Vinroot, Bill Cobey, Patrick Ballantine, Dan Barrett, George Little, and Fern Shubert.
But if none of the Republicans win 40 percent of the vote Monday, the two top vote getters would face off in another primary next month.
Political experts say that's very likely.
