Former Fort Bragg General May Be Punished In Tillman Death

Military officials say the Pentagon is preparing to hand out new punishments in the friendly fire death of former N-F-L player Pat Tillman.

The latest punishments could involve a retired special operations general who was at Fort Bragg.

Officials who spoke on condition of anonymity say retired Lieutenant General Philip Kensinger Junior may be demoted. The officials wouldn't be identified because the punishments haven't been made public.

Documents released after The Associated Press filed a Freedom of
Information request show Kensinger told investigators some 70 times
that he couldn't recall details of his actions.

The 60-year-old Kensinger commanded the Army Special Operations
Command at Fort Bragg. Tillman was a Ranger when he was killed in
Afghanistan in 2004.
