Police in Pennsylvania have seized equipment and materials for a portable methamphetamine laboratory from a motel room in State College, PA.
Authorities arrested a North Carolina man on felony charges.
Forty-year-old Lee Caughron of Gibsonville, North Carolina, was
arraigned yesterday on felony counts of possession of marijuana
with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a handgun. He is
in the Centre County, Pennsylvania, Correctional Facility in lieu
of 50-thousand dollars bail.
Investigators say they found no evidence the motel room had been
used to manufacture methamphetamine, but officers wearing white
biohazard suits and masks worked to clear what a police lieutenant
described as a small amount of hazardous chemicals.
