More Census Jobs Available
The Governor's Office says local census offices in Eastern Carolina will hire thousands of people. Find out what it takes to land one of those jobs.

Thousands of Census 2010 jobs are up for grabs in Eastern Carolina. Census offices have started a second round of hiring, according to the governor.
The Census Office in Greenville is looking to employ nearly 4,000 people for jobs until September. Rocky Mount's Census Office says it will hire about 2,500 people.
To qualify for temporary Census employment, you must be:
• able to read, write, and speak English;
• a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident, or non-citizen with an appropriate work visa, and you must possess a bilingual skill for which there are no available qualified U.S. citizens;
• at least 18 years old;
• have a valid social security number;
• pass a written test of basic skills (view practice test here);
• have a valid driver's license;
• pass a background check; and
• commit to four days of training. You will be paid for training days.

Why is everyone blaming President Obama for the census worker? The census has been going on for years, every ten years. People are hired and then the census is over and they are let go. It is a seasonal job!!
i took a test in the census bureau last month here in new jersey, nobody is calling me until now. regarding unemployed people who are looking for a job, i applied in one of the tea company here in jersey as a machine operator. in the application form that i filled out there is a page that they they will verify the credit report. i know i have a bad credit report, but my concern is that, i am looking for a job so i can pai my credit and don't need to wait for unemployment check to be gone. why some company are giving hard time the people to get a job, especially those who are unemployed, high school graduate and people who are bad credit. What kind of company are those who laif-off people especially if you have a bad credit and if you didn't submit the paper they need on time.
What kind of Dem spin is this again? The temps get a job for a year. They work themselves out of work when the census are complete. Guess what they qualify for unemployment again. what a great scam!
