Two men, one of them from North Carolina, have been sentenced to life in prison for a conspiracy that came to light after two bodies were found in the trunk of their car in Maryland.
A Maryland state trooper pulled over James Moore on Interstate 95 in Cecil County in November 2003. Walter Babbs was riding shotgun.
The trooper opened the trunk to find the bodies of a man and a woman. The victims, Willie Robinson and Alexandria Withers, had been shot the day before. Prosecutors say the two victims conspired with Moore and Babbs to deal drugs. More than 100-thousand dollars was also found in the car.
Moore is 43 and from Andrews, South Carolina. Babbs is 37 and from Greensboro, North Carolina. They were convicted of drug conspiracy and firearms conspiracy.
