Military To Handle Case Of Soldier Accused Of Transmitting HIV

The military plans to prosecute a
soldier accused of transmitting H-I-V to a partner he didn't tell
about the virus.

Officials at Fort Bragg say a hearing will take place for
Private First Class Johnny Lamar Dalton, who was arrested earlier
this month.

Dalton is charged with assault with a deadly weapon after his
18-year-old partner's mother contacted authorities.

Major Tom Earnhardt says the state charges against Dalton are
expected to be dismissed as the military justice system proceeds
with the case.

Dalton was ordered in November not to have unprotected sex after
it was discovered he was H-I-V positive.
