The death of an eight year old Wayne County boy has been ruled an accident by investigators.
Last Tuesday Andre Wilder was shot at his home on McDaniel Avenue. Wayne County detectives say their investigation shows that the youngster's older brother tried to get the gun away from him when it went off.
The boy's mother told WITN 7 News that they did not own the gun and didn't know how it got into their home. Deputies now say the two brothers found the gun in nearby woods earlier in the day. The firearm had been reported stolen last year from a vehicle parked in the Goldsboro Wal-Mart.
An autopsy show Wilder died from a single gunshot to the upper right cheek and no charges will be filed as a result of the death.
