Police: Pitt County Car Break-ins Solved

Pitt County deputies say they have solve a rash of car break-ins that have plagued the area over the past several months.

They have arrested four Winterville men on 17 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle and 12 counts of larceny. The four were previosuly charged with breaking into a Hookerton bank on Tuesday.

The arrests came after detectives from Pitt & Greene County searched their apartment on South Square Drive.

17 counts of break and entering a motor vehicle
12 counts of larceny after breaking and entering

Joshua Remley
17 counts of break and entering a motor vehicle
12 counts of larceny after breaking and entering

John Hart
17 counts of break and entering a motor vehicle
12 counts of larceny after breaking and entering

Nicholas Smart
1 count of breaking and entering
1 count of larceny after breaking and entering
10 counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle
8 counts of larceny after breaking and entering
1 count of possession of stolen property

The four are in the Greene County jail under secured bonds. Authorities say more charges are possible.
