Church Congregation Holds First Service After Tornado Hit

The National Weather Service determined a weak tornado hit the Old Ford area along Highway 17 last Wednesday. Several large pines and oak trees snapped causing power outages and roof damage. For one small congregation, the damage didn't keep them from returning and rejoicing.

Members of Love Faith Holiness Church opened their doors to service Sunday morning. Damaging winds ripped the roof off part of the structure, leaving three thousand dollars worth of damage. With a little patchwork, members were able to come back Sunday and celebrate the fact they didn't lose everything in the tornado.

Clean up continues for many of the residents in Old Ford. Some wait from insurance to help them in the rebuilding effort.
