Eastern Carolina Post Office Under Investigation
The Postal Service's Office of Inspector General anticipates prosecution and disciplinary action taken once the probe into the Swan Quarter post office is complete.

The U.S. Postal Service confirms there is an investigation into problems at one Eastern Carolina post office.
The Postal Service's Office of Inspector General says they are investigating improprieties at the Swan Quarter post office in Hyde County.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Larry Gleisner tells WITN News that he anticipates prosecution and disciplinary action taken once the probe is complete. Gleisner says since the investigation is still ongoing they cannot say exactly what those improprieties were.

Some good comes out of everything. The investigation in the east carolina post office has help give the Engelhard post office a new payment top an a new culvert,. repairs that has been needed for years. Thanks to whoever can take the credit.

The state is not putting in the culvert, its a private contractor. It's for the back entrance for the mail truck and employees. Maybe the ower needs someone to fall in order to get the needy repairs and fresh paint in the public parking lot.

Ref to Alice comment about the conditions surrounding the PO in Engelhard and Not enough parking and people having to jump a ditch to get their mail. Well help is on the way.. the state is putting some culverts on westside of lot maybe there will be more parking spaces now and people wont have to walk around all the over grown brush on the eastside.If they put in a central PO it might be best put in Fairfield more central location and clear and clean parking.Did they fire the SQ PO Employees and send them to camp Butner havent heard anything in 30 days huh uh>
