Craven County Restricts Billboards

You won't be seeing any new billboards on the way to the beach. Craven County Commissioners Thursday approved strict guidelines for billboards.

Billboards will now have to be 2500 feet away from each other. Existing billboards will not be impacted, unless they are significantly damaged.

That means no additional billboards can go up along the U.S. 70 corridor to the beach.

Craven County had a moratorium on new billboards since February as it drafted these restrictions.
