Military Vehicle Manufacturer To Open Facility In North Carolina

State officials say a company that manufactures military vehicles plans to open a facility in north-central North Carolina.

Force Protection, based in Ladson, South Carolina, will invest 31 million dollars in Person County and move into a former

Collins and Aikman plant outside Roxboro. That's according to a statement from Governor Easley's office.

The move would create 270 jobs over the next four years. The new facility will be used for manufacturing a new "Cheetah" vehicle line and other projects.
