Drought Spreads Into Eastern Carolina

Large parts of Eastern Carolina are now included in this summer's drought.

The moderate drought has spread into Lenior, Pitt, Martin & Bertie Counties.

Earlier the U.S. Drought Monitor had included Onslow, Jones, Duplin, Wayne, Wilson & Edgecombe Counties in the moderate drought classification.

The entire state of North Carolina continues to be under either abnormally dry or moderate drought conditions.
