Eastern Carolina Cities Prepare For Possible Snow
Kinston & Jacksonville city employees are preparing for a winter storm Friday night.

Cities across Eastern Carolina are beginning to get ready for the possibility of more snow.
Kinston city employees are preparing for a winter storm, the third time in less than six weeks.
A January 7th storm missed the city, but two weeks ago Kinston wasn't so lucky and received two inches of ice.
Friday morning city workers began to prepare for the possibility of between two and four inches of snow. The city says crews are starting to pre-treat major roads and getting snow plows ready for the possible storm.
"City crews are preparing for Kinston to receive snow accumulations of 1"-3" tonight with up to an additional 1" on Saturday," says Ruth Tanner, Public Services Analyst for the city.
Jacksonville says it too is getting equipment readied. The city says it's working with the D.O.T. and sharing road responsibilities.
Communications Director Glenn Hargett says crews are standing by for any snow and is urging residents to stay home when weather conditions are threatening.
Hargett says Jacksonville Transit will operate as long as possible.
