Man Charged After House Fire

An unoccupied two-story house being renovated in Charlotte caught fire and police arrested a man at the scene early Saturday.

Fire department Captain Rob Brisley says the fire in the Myers Park neighborhood caused about 250-thousand dollars damage.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to control the fire. Brisley says Edward Tim Tinsley was detained about 1 a.m. at the scene and later charged with breaking and entering and unlawful burning.

He was held under 500-thousand dollars bond.

Brisley said investigators will review other fires in the area to see if there was a connection to the latest blaze.
