State health officials are seeking 250 residents of communities near foam plants for a study of how chemicals affect health.
Officials say they want to find residents from Asheboro, High Point, Pleasant Garden and McLeansville for the study that is set to start in the middle of this month.
Participants in the study will have to give blood samples and answer questions about their respiratory health and will be paid for their time. Air monitors will be placed in some of their yards.
State health officials are studying whether a chemical used in household products is present in the communities and whether it affects Residents' health.
