Local River Suffers From Lack Of Rain

We could use all the rain we can possibly get because the abnormally dry weather has affected our local waterways.
Along the Tar River in Greenville, the waterline has receded from its banks exposing tree roots and river rocks.

Anglers say they've noticed the drop in the river in the past few weeks. As of Two PM, Saturday afternoon- it was measured at three point 76 feet. Flood stage is around 13 feet.

Although there are no mandatory water conservation efforts in Pitt County at this time, the Governor has asked all counties to conserve water.
