Marines from Camp Lejeune are working round the clock to help in the Haitian relief effort as we mark three weeks since the devastating earthquake.
Five hundred Marines from Camp Lejeune 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit are now onshore and wasting no time helping the Haitians. A press release says Combat Logistics Battalion 24 has worked round the clock to put up a medical facility to transition patients from the Navy hospital ship, the U.S.N.S Comfort, back to the mainland.
Other Marines are helping distribute food. The military says the Osprey Helicopters deployed with the MEU have been running missions every day since the unit arrived on January 23rd.
