A group of home-buyers are suing Beazer Homes as federal agencies investigate the company for possible fraud.
Ten home-buyers from a Charlotte development have filed a lawsuit in Mecklenburg County Superior Court. It says the Atlanta-based company's fraudulent tactics were so pervasive that corporate management must have participated or condoned.
An analysis by The Charlotte Observer shows 14 percent of the 98 homes in Oak Hill have fallen into foreclosure. Nationally, less than three percent of home purchases end in foreclosure.
The newspaper's analysis also found that ten of Beazer's subdivisions in Charlotte had rates of 20 percent or higher.
