On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
One northbound lane of Interstate 95 in Halifax County is open again after an accident tossed logs all over the busy highway.
State troopers say the log truck overturned just after noon near the Halifax exit. Northbound holiday traffic had to be rerouted onto Highways 561 and 301 while crews cleaned up the mess.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation expects the other lane to reopen later this afternoon.
