The Fourth of July Holiday is a reminder of the freedom we as Americans can enjoy...and its an appreciation to the ones who fought for it. In one area town, the celebration will recognize one of their own who died sacrificing his life for freedom in Iraq.
The Late Lance Corporal. Johnathan E. Kirk will be the Grand Marshall of Belhaven's 65Th Fourth Of July Parade on Wednesday, according to reports in a local newspaper.
Kirk died May 1st from wounds received while conducting combat operations in Iraq. He was based out of Camp Lejeune. Belhaven's parade begins at 10:55am with a fly-over.
