The pharmacy director at UNC Hospitals was removed from his position after state auditors said he double-billed the state for travel expenses and submitted his son's travel and cell phone bill.
An auditor's report said James C. McAllister III submitted expense claims ($3,573) for travel and cell phone charges of his son, a pharmacy student at the university. The report said McAllister also received more than 11-hundred dollars in duplicate expense claims.
McAllister's status was active, and a university spokesman says personnel processes are being reviewed. A telephone message left at a phone listed to James McAllister wasn't returned.
