N.C. Senators Lead Immigration Opposition

The U.S. Senate has rejected President Bush's latest plan to legalize millions of unlawful immigrants.

The action likely postpones major action on immigration until after the 2008 elections.

North Carolina Republican senators Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr, led the opposition. Dole says many Americans "don't have confidence" that borders will be significantly tightened.
