Deputies say an Australian woman traveled half way around the world with intentions of abducting a Pitt County teenager.
Tamara Broome of Adelaide, Australia was arrested Tuesday on abduction of children charges after she got off a train in Rocky Mount .
Authorities say she and a then 16-year old Pitt County boy met in an Internet medieval gaming chat room about a year ago.
The boy was reported missing June 12th and was found at the Raleigh-Durham Airport with intentions of flying to Australia.
Police say they then discovered Broome was headed to Pitt County. With cooperation of U.S. Customs and the Postal Service they learned of the woman's itinerary and were waiting on her in Rocky Mount.
Broome is in jail on a $2-million bond.
Pitt County investigators say the two had talked about getting married. The boy is now safe with his parents.
